Acquablend, the premium fruit infusion water bottle company, have confirmed Malika Faye as their new sponsored athlete and brand ambassador. The tenacious 32-year-old mother-of-three has turned her challenges into triumphs since becoming a surprise winner of the Acquablend bottle competition at Be:Fit London last year.

Acquablend see their collaboration with Malika Faye as an important step in developing their UK brand profile and championing the benefits of fruit infusion water as a nutritionally smart choice and a sensible natural alternative to sugary and fizzy drinks.

Malika Faye’s journey to fitness and a healthy lifestyle has not been an easy one and it was a particularly challenging period in her life that forced the tenacious mother-of-three to take control of her future.

As the latest Acquablend ‘Champion’, Malika will be sharing her story on how she achieved her personal health and fitness goals.

malika-winnerThings have not looked back for the 32-year old Londoner who has since undertaken a demanding diet and fitness regime which earned her a top seven finish in the Fit Mum category at last year’s Miami Pro European Championships. Malika is not resting on her laurels and will compete in the prestigious World Beauty Fitness and Fashion (WBFF) at London’s Indigo O2 on May 29.

This positive tale is in complete contrast to an earlier period in her personal life when she was overweight, depressed and wrestling with relationship issues.  This proved to be a pivotal turning point for Malika, who woke up one morning and decided to take control of her life. She was spurred on by friends to compete in the Championships after seeing her progress and dedication to training and eating healthily.

Malika recalls:  “I didn’t know much about the event but I found the Fit Mum category was perfect for me and offered a real challenge. I got myself an online training package from a top competition prep coach and I got to work. I had just 12 weeks in total to prepare and it was gruelling.”

As if raising three young children and holding down a demanding job wasn’t challenging enough, Malika somehow found time to perform as a backing singer on singer-songwriter Gabrielle’s 2014 UK tour. She also toured with Imagination and featured in a European show line-up which included Nile Rodgers and Chic, Sister Sledge and Kool & the Gang.

“I have learnt a lot from singing in front of live audiences and thankfully, I am confident performing which comes in handy with my stage presence for competitions” declared Malika, who is currently in competition prep for WBFF Spring Show next month where she will be competing in the Diva Fitness Model category.”

“A huge part of finding that mental clarity has been through fitness. The positive energy it has given me and the feeling of accomplishment outweigh all the negative thoughts and feelings I was carrying. Competing is a huge challenge and a great achievement, but my fitness journey is about much more than the stage. I want to inspire and empower others with my journey from where I began to where I am now, mentally, physically and emotionally to show that with determination and hard work, anything is possible.”

Malika is now a qualified Level 3 Personal and is excited about assisting others in setting and reaching their own personal goals.
